The core of the osteopathic
approach to healthcare
is that everything is connected.
You’ve seen another osteo in the past and loved the way they worked? Or you’ve never been to an osteo before and don’t know who to choose?
We get it, there can be a huge variety to the way different osteopaths work. Plus, it can feel overwhelming to get to know and trust a new healthcare provider and bring them up to speed on “you”.
One of the strengths of Quay Osteo is that we have a wide range of skill sets. As a team, we are collaborating on a daily basis behind the scenes, making sure that clients are getting the best outcomes. We undertake team trainings weekly to make sure that we’re constantly improving. With our practitioners you’re getting both the consistency of our shared experience and the artistry of our individual team members.
If you’ve seen a particular practitioner or style of osteo in the past, call us and our reception team will work with you to find the best match.
If you’ve never seen an osteo before, call and speak to with our reception or osteo team about what you’re looking for help with. We want you to feel confident moving forwards and having the opportunity to ask some questions before booking in can help with this.
Osteopaths train for 5 years in Australia to gain a detailed understanding of the musculoskeletal system. We want to know what is causing your symptoms and how this area is being influenced by other regions of the body (think posture, footwear, previous injuries, scoliosis, asymmetry).
Osteopathy is one of 14 professions in Australia that are regulated at the highest level, alongside medicine, nursing, dentistry and podiatry. If you see an Osteopath, you can be assured that their level of training is exceptional.
We often get asked how osteo is different to chiro or physio, see our FAQ for more detail about the similarities and differences across professions.
Founder, Laura Walsh, thrives on building relationships. During her 20+ years in the healthcare industry she has repeatedly observed that the best outcomes happen when you really get to know someone and have a deeper insight into the layers impacting their health. This belief has informed the way that Quay Osteo was founded and has continued to grow.
During your consultation your osteopath will listen to the symptoms you’ve been experiencing and the impact that this having on your life. They will undertake a thorough assessment of your movement, and provide you with a detailed explanation of the “What and Why” of your complaint, minus the complicated medical jargon. You will receive hands-on treatment designed to reduce pain, improve movement and get you back to doing what you love. You’ll go home with exercises to support the gains you have made and avoid recurrence.
